It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Barbara June Carr-Baker, who passed away on January 2024 at the age of 90. Born on December 21,1933, in Los Angeles, CA. She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband Fred C. Baker, and a devoted mother to her children Rebecca Laipple, Mark McDonald, Susan Bell & Scott McDonald. Barbara Baker lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many talents. Her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. She had a passion for reading the Bible and was with the Lord. She cooked and baked and her homemade dishes were always the highlight of family gatherings. She was also a master quilter who only stitched by hand. She could do anything with a needle; sew, crass-stitch, quilt, crochet or knit. She loved knitting socks most of all but always had a quilt in the works. After graduating Lebanon High School in Lebanon, MO, Barbara Baker went to nursing school at St Johns hospital in Tulsa, OK and later transferred to St. Louis. After many years working as a nurse she began teaching medical terminology at Tulsa Tech. She never had a student fail and all her students were placed in jobs before graduating. She later moved Denver, CO to pursue a career in apartment leasing and management and would later transfer to W. Hollywood and Fountain Valley in CA. She and her husband would later retire in Mesa, AZ and then Crump, TN. She is pre-deceased by her parents Charles H. Carr and Lola Mae Patman-Carr and her son Mark K. McDonald. She is survived by her siblings Helen Feuerbourn and Barrett Carr, her children Becky Laippie, Susan Bell and Scott McDonald, her 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, who will miss her dearly. A private Celebration of Life will be held for immediate family members and friends at a later date.
Rest in peace, dear mother. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.
