Betty Jo Harris of Savannah, Tennessee, passed away on July 3, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on May 14, 1941, she was a lifelong resident of Hardin County and a woman deeply devoted to her family and her faith.
She married the love of her life, Claude “Bud” Harris, on February 10, 1957. Betty Jo worked at Dillon Manufacturing and later at Angelique Mann, where she eventually retired. A dedicated homemaker, she took pride in caring for her home and nurturing her children and grandchildren.
Betty Jo loved the outdoors and found joy in gardening and bargain hunting at yard sales. Her greatest joys came from spending time with her family and walking in her faith with the Lord.
She is survived by her loving companion, John; her daughters, Wanda Brumley of Savannah and Mary Lowe of Memphis, TN; and her sons, Donald Harris and Stephen Harris, both of Savannah, TN. She also leaves behind her brother, Bobby Jones; nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude “Bud” Harris; her parents; her daughter, Melinda Deshazier; her sons, Ronald Harris and Robert Harris; her siblings: sisters Gladys Tidwell, Ruby Deshazier, Dorothy Frazier, Dovie Franks, and Billie Jean Jones; and brothers Kenneth Jones, James Jones, Jimmy Jones, Robert Jones, and Elmer Lee Jones. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Timothy Brown, and great-grandson, Kane Bearden.
