Billie Faye Ward, 76, of Savannah, Tennessee, passed away on November 25, 2025, at Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven, Mississippi, after a short illness.
Billie was born on November 9, 1949, to Tom and Hester Petty. She spent her life caring for her family and her home, and there was nothing more important to her than being surrounded by the people she loved. She was a homemaker in every sense of the word—always cooking, working puzzles, and making sure her house felt like home to everyone who walked through the door.
She was the heart of a big, loving family and found her greatest joy in spending time with them. Whether it was a holiday gathering, a simple Sunday dinner, or just sitting around the kitchen table, Billie’s presence made those moments special.
She is survived by her children: Brenda Faulkner, Tracy Burge, Wesley Ward (Denise), Tom Ward (Amanda), April Cochran (Phillip), Becky Ward, John Ward, Patrick Ward, and Travis Ward (Brittney). She is also lovingly remembered by several stepchildren.
Her grandchildren—Ashton, Jessica, Jenny, Madison, Keaton, Kelton, Daniel, Savannah, Beth, Kaitlyn, Hillary Grace, Deanna, Michael, Nick, Destney, Sabrina, Tim, Keely, Jacob, Peyton, Hunter, Cameron, Jaiden, Emerie, Kayden, and Maverick—along with her many great-grandchildren, were the light of her life.
Billie is also survived by her sisters Mary Petty and Tina McClain, her brother Bob Petty, and many nieces and nephews who will miss her deeply.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wesley Ward Sr.; her parents, Tom and Hester Petty; several brothers and sisters; and three of her grandchildren—Braxton, Rose, and Clayton Dallas.
A celebration of Billie’s life will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Associated Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 29, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the service begins. Billie will be laid to rest at Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery in the Nixon Community.
