Cathy Ann Rhodes departed this life on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Tri-Star Centennial Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 72. She was born in Waverly, TN on October 11, 1953, to the late Charles Arthur Clark II and Jewel Christine Burkett Clark.
Cathy was a devout Pentecostal lady and was the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman. For many years,she was a devoted member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Lawrenceburg, serving God and her church family. She received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost in 1967 under the leadership of Pastor Tom Marshall.
She worked at the Salent & Salent garment factory and the Frye Shoe Company for several years, as well as working as a caretaker for the elderly before retirement. She also volunteered her time serving as a teacher at Columbia Christian Academy. She was a patriot at heart with a deep appreciation of the sacrifices made to secure her freedom. She loved listening to her favorite gospel group, the Dove Brothers Quartet. One of her favorite pastimes was delving into genealogies and historical records, a passion which she passed down to her family. She was part of a close-knit friend group that spent many mornings at Hardee’s and McDonald’s.
On September 1, 1972, she was united in marriage to the late Larry Eugene Robinson, who predeceased her on December 8, 1993. On June 16, 1994, she was united in marriage to the late Billie Lynn Rhodes, who preceded her in death on July 5, 2001.
Among those remaining to cherish her memory are her children, Gene Robinson and his wife Ronnice of Parsons, TN; Amber Eliff and her husband Duane of Crump, TN; Josh Robinson and his wife Bridgett of Nettleton, MS; Emily Ashley and her husband Kerry of Mantachie, MS; Jacob Robinson and his wife MaKaylah of Iron City, TN; and Hannah Lynn Rhodes of Lawrenceburg, TN; Harold Rhodes and his wife Kathy of Murfreesboro, TN; Connie Fugate and her husband Gerald of Murfreesboro, TN.
Her legacy will live on through her grandchildren, whom she adored: Tyler Robinson and his wife Brooke of Jackson, TN; Autumn Robinson of Parsons, TN; Briley and Brady Eliff of Crump, TN; Mia Grace Robinson of Nettleton, MS; Carley and Caden Ashley of Mantachie, MS; MaLeigha and Jaxon Robinson of Iron City, TN, and eight step-grandchildren.
In addition, her memory will be forever treasured by her siblings Larry Wallace Clark and his wife Loretta of Hohenwald, TN; Rita Clark of Milan, TN; Stella Crocker and her husband Mike of Bradford, TN; Don Clark of Lawrenceburg, TN; Christie Clark of Milan, TN; and Jeremy Clark and his wife Patricia of Milan, TN.
She is also survived by a special family friend, Milessa Tanner of Lawrenceburg, TN, who will forever treasure her friendship.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by her siblings Roger Clark, Charles Clark III, and Jannie Sue Clark, and one stepdaughter Deborah Lynn Rhodes.
The visitation will be held at First United Pentecostal Church of Lawrenceburg, TN, located at 1103 Springer Road, Lawrenceburg, TN, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, and from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 30, 2026. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 30, 2026. Officiating will be her sons Rev. Gene Robinson, Rev. Josh Robinson, Rev. Jacob Robinson, and Pastor Bobby French. Speaking in her honor will be her son-in-law, Dr. Duane Eliff. Graveside service will follow immediately after the funeral at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens officiated by Rev. Roy Staggs.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Robinson, Brady Eliff, Caden Ashley, Jaxon Robinson, Harold Rhodes, Nathan Keeton, Shane Clark, Grant Walker, and Tony Lee. Honorary pallbearers include Autumn Robinson, Brooke Robinson, Briley Eliff, Mia Grace Robinson, Carley Ashley, and MaLeigha Robinson.
Memorials in Cathy’s honor may be made to the First United Pentecostal Church of Lawrenceburg, TN.
