With deep sorrow and love, we announce the passing of David Wayne Perry, who departed this life on April 2, 2025, at the age of 52.
Born on July 14, 1972, in Mishawaka, Indiana, and most recently residing in Savannah, Tennessee. David was the beloved son of Bruno Frank Perry and Sandra Kaye (Highland) Perry, and protective older brother to Melissa Rose (Perry) Thompson. As the child of a military family, David’s early years were filled with adventure, moving around the world to places like Okinawa, Japan, Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands, and cities across the United States.
He had a lifelong love for animals, especially dogs, but even a few cats won him over and brought him a quiet kind of peace and
companionship throughout his life. David lived with diabetes for many years, which eventually led to chronic kidney disease, a condition that became the ultimate cause of
his passing. Though his life was marked by many personal struggles, David remained deeply loved by those who knew him best.
He is preceded in death by his devoted mother, Sandy Kaye, who remained his greatest champion and source of unconditional love.
Their bond was unbreakable, and in the end, it seems they were not meant to be apart for long. He is survived by his father, Bruno, his sister, Melissa, her husband, Rick and nephews Zachary and Vincent, all of Jacksonville, NC, in addition his Step Mother Carol Jones Perry of Jacksonville, North Carolina and his Step Sister Jennifer Weber and
her husband Eric Weber of Lenoir, North Carolina and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A private remembrance will be held by his family. In David’s memory, the family encourages support for organizations focused on mental health awareness, chronic illness, or local animal shelters. May he nowrest in the peace he long sought—and may those who loved him carry
his memory with understanding and grace.
