Dawn Umphrey

Dawn Umphrey, age 56, of Savannah, Tennessee, passed away on May 15, 2025, at AHC in Savannah. She was born on June 22, 1968, to Danny Earnest Umphrey and Deborah Oaks Montgomery.

Dawn was a true Tennessee soul—plainspoken, tough as nails, and full of heart. She liked things simple and honest, just the way life ought to be. She enjoyed sitting by the water with a fishing pole in hand, heading out in the woods during hunting season, and settling in for a good stretch of TV in the evenings. More than anything, she loved her dogs, Oscar and Ditto, who were always right there by her side..

Dawn is survived by her mother, Deborah Montgomery, and her aunts: Cathy Bridges (Randy), Mae Belle McDonald, Ruby McDonald, and Penny Bach. She was preceded in death by her daddy, Danny Earnest Umphrey.
