Dorothy Ruth (Johnson) Coats

Dorothy Ruth Coats was born on September 15, 1941, in Selmer, TN, to the late Chris Johnson and McGuffy. Mrs. Coats married the love of her life the late Raymond Coats on June 29, 1956. She worked for Levi Strauss as a seamstress for 21 years. Dorothy loved working outside in her garden and flower beds. She was of the Pentecostal faith. Mrs. Coats passed away peacefully at her home on December 13, 2023, at the age of 82 years old. 

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Coats, Cathy Workman (David) ; sons, Ronnie Coats, Dennis Coats; grand children, and great grand children and a host of nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by all her siblings.

Officiating will be Shelton Collins. Pallbearers include Dustin Gladish, Justin Robertson, Anthony Lawrence, Aaron Coats, Steve Gage and Jarrod Melton. Honorary pallbearer is Dylan Wilson.

Services will be at The Chapel of Memories, 230 N. Maple St., Adamsville, TN at 1 pm. on December 22, 2023 with family visitation at 11:30 and public visitation will follow at 12 pm until service time at 1 pm.
