Douglas William Jackson, Jr., age 79, of Beech Bluff, Tennessee, passed away on November 1, 2024, after a brief illness. Born on April 6, 1945, in Providence, Rhode Island, Douglas was the son of the late Douglas William Jackson, Sr., and Theresa Francis McCarron Jackson. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, family devotion, and kindness.
Douglas was a man dedicated to his work, often known for his strong work ethic and commitment, which he saw not just as a duty but as a calling. In his younger years, he took great enjoyment in working on cars, a hobby that combined his hands-on skills with his appreciation for craftsmanship. Family and friends fondly recall his love for the Christmas season, his favorite time of year, when he would gather with his family to create cherished memories. Douglas was known for his warm spirit and deep love for animals, a passion he held throughout his life.
He attended Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee, where his faith was a cornerstone of his life and values.
Douglas is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Jackson; his sons, Sean David Jackson (Rebecca) of Virginia, Jeffrey Douglas Jackson of Massachusetts, and Eric Daniel Jackson. He is also remembered fondly by his grandsons, Jason Douglas Jackson and Dylan Raymond Jackson of Virginia, and numerous extended family members whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas William Jackson, Sr., and Theresa McCarron Jackson, as well as his siblings, Kay Jackson Cummiskey and Donald William Jackson.
A devoted family man and friend, Douglas’s life was marked by dedication, loyalty, and love. His memory will be carried forward by those who knew him best.
