Essie Mae Buckeridge

Essie Mae Buckeridge, age 71, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, at AHC of Savannah.

She was born on February 23, 1955, in Mississippi to the late Leroy and Annie Buckeridge. Essie was known throughout her life for her determination, hardworking spirit, and deep love for her family and community. After completing her schooling, she pursued higher education in accounting and proudly earned her Associate’s Degree.

Essie was a faithful member of Sand Hill Holiness, now known as Grace Apostolic Church in Savannah. She had returned to the area three years ago and enjoyed reconnecting with family, friends, and her church family.

Essie was a dedicated worker throughout her life and had also spent time working alongside the staff at Associated Family Funeral Home. True to her determined nature, she set a goal of earning her life insurance license in the State of Tennessee. Through hard work and persistence, she achieved that goal — something she was very proud of.

She found joy in many simple pleasures of life. Essie loved working, shopping, thrifting, playing cards, and especially spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She also enjoyed visiting the Amish to buy fresh vegetables and treasured the many hobbies that kept her active and engaged.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Allison Zandi and husband Devin; her cherished grandchildren, Paisley Wilbanks and Asher Zandi; and her uncle, Randall Edwards and wife Becky, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Funeral Services celebrating Essie’s life will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Associated Family Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and continue until service time. Burial will follow in the Adamsville Cemetery
