Ginger Maria Rinks Young, 68, of Savannah, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, at Hardin Medical Center, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on October 5, 1957, in Savannah, TN, Ginger was the beloved daughter of the late Raymond Rinks and Lucy Pauline Melson Tucker. A proud graduate of Central High School’s Class of 1975, Ginger carried with her a spirit of strength, warmth, and unwavering love for those closest to her.
A devoted member of Love and Truth Church in Savannah, Ginger’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She found joy in the simple pleasures—watching her favorite Netflix series, cheering on her beloved Tennessee Volunteers and Dallas Cowboys, and spending time with her family. Her laughter, generosity, and nurturing spirit touched all who knew her.
Ginger is survived by her loving daughter Lucy Morgan Gayer (Robert); her devoted sisters Denice Barfield (Hank), Melody Scott (Brad), and Audra Teague (Bart); and her honorary sister, Mollie Monday her niece Callie; nephews Avery & Seth, Dewayne and Jeff ; and her former husband, Earl Young. She also leaves behind her cherished honorary granddaughter Lisa Kiesgen. Ginger’s circle of love extended deeply and widely, embracing each person with genuine care and affection.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother William H. “Dub” Rinks, and her nephew Brady Teague. She was also preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Oscar and Marie Melson, who gave her a strong foundation in faith that guided her throughout her life.
A service celebrating Ginger’s life will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Love and Truth Church, located at 2425 Pickwick Street, Savannah, TN 38372. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service officiated by Pastor AJ Fowler and Dr. Jeff LaBorg. Ginger will be laid to rest at Hardin Memory Gardens, Savannah, TN.
