Glenda Briley James, age 63, of Lexington, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her daughters home in Bethel Springs on June 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on July 12, 1962, to the late Gene Carlon McClaine and Addie Aleene Sharp McClaine. Glenda lived a life defined by love, compassion, and selflessness. During her working years, she dedicated herself to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Lexington Manor. Her caring spirit extended far beyond her profession, as she was always willing to help anyone in need, often putting others before herself.
Glenda was a recent attendee of Beauty Hill United Pentecostal Church and treasured her church family. One of the greatest blessings of her life was recently being baptized in Jesus’ name and dedicating her life fully to the Lord, a decision that brought her great peace and joy.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Steven Briley; her daughter, Chasity Weatherly; her sister, Sherry Johns; her Aunt Betty; her grandchildren, Shelby Weatherford, Aleiah Griggs, Tyler Briley, Lacey Briley, MaKinlee Weatherly, and Ava Briley; and her great-grandchildren, Maven, Stella, Karter, and Brynlee. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and church family who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her husband Keith James, and her parents.
A Memorial Service celebrating Glenda's life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Beauty Hill United Pentecostal Church, located on Beauty Hill Road in Bethel Springs, Tennessee.
