Helen Clydell Sagely

Helen Clydell Sagely, lovingly known as “Clydell,” age 84, of Counce, Tennessee, passed away on August 26, 2025. She was born on December 16, 1940, to the late James Nathaniel Bramlett and Helen Strickland Bramlett.

Clydell devoted her working years to caring for others as a caregiver and hospice aide, providing comfort and compassion to many families. She made Counce her home for more than 40 years, where she became a familiar and beloved part of the community. A faithful member of First Baptist Church in Counce, she loved to cook, sing, and lend a helping hand at church whenever she was able. Her kindness, hospitality, and warm spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Sue Riggle (Todd), Dale Sagely (JoAnn), and Shannon Sagely; her grandchildren, Abby Whisenant, Lindsay Whisenant, Drew Whisenant, Jessica Sides, Josh Sagely, Roxie Sagely, Samantha Sagely, Tommy Sagely, and Avery Sagely; and her great-grandchildren, Makayla Whisenant, Logan Whisenant, Gunnar Simpson, Bella Whisenant, Ayla Domador, Jaxton Sides, Tinslee Sides, Dacota Sides, Baja Sides, Tyler Sagely, and Quinton Sagely.

Clydell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lenard Eugene Sagely; her son, Timothy Sagely; and her brothers, James Bramlett and Joe Bramlett.

Services celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Counce First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Center Hill Cemetery.
