Howard David Flake, Sr.

Howard David Flake, Sr. was born on June 4, 1958, in Bolivar, Tennessee, to the late Nace and Jo Ann Herod Flake. He was of the Christian faith and worked many years as a dedicated construction worker before his retirement.

Howard enjoyed the simple things in life. In his spare time, he loved fishing, working on cars, and spending time around guns. He was a man who valued hard work, family, and the outdoors.

Mr. Flake departed this life on February 21, 2026, at Bolivar General Hospital in Bolivar, Tennessee.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Howard David Flake, Jr. (Jennifer), Keith Flake (Monica), and Christopher Flake; his sister, Mary Lou Swinford; twelve precious grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother, Nace and Joanna Herod Flake.

Burial will be in Gentry Chapel Church with a service to follow on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Gentry Chapel Holiness Church in Middleton, Tennessee.
