Jackie Gean Scott, a compassionate soul who dedicated her life to helping others, passed away on January 25, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She was born on December 28, 1938, to Jack Gean and Beulah Franklin Gean.
Jackie had a heart for service and was deeply committed to her work at the Jack Gean Shelter, which she owned and operated to support those in need. She also loved crafting, shopping, and savoring good food, but above all, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Vance Vanhoose; her grandchildren, Douglas Vanhoose, Josh Vanhoose, Jeremy Vanhoose, and Skylar Vanhoose; and her great-grandchildren, Camden Blakney, Izzy Blankenship, Norah Vanhoose, Brady Vanhoose, Braxton Vanhoose, Brooks Vanhoose, Chelsea Vanhoose, Allison Vanhoose, and Ashlyn Vanhoose.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Robin "Frog" Vanhoose and her grandson Joseph Vanhoose.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Associated Family Funeral Home, Adamsville, Tn Burial will follow in Crump Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Thursday from 10:00 AM until service time all at the funeral home. .
