James R. Hamm

James R. Hamm, 75, passed away on June 8th, 2026. He was born on July 30, 1950, in Savannah, Tennessee, to the late R.C. Hamm and Louise Katherine Blanton Hamm.

James was a hardworking man who dedicated much of his life to providing for his family. In his younger years, he worked in construction alongside Tommy Morris, learning the value of hard work and craftsmanship. He later spent 20 years employed at Aqua Glass as a finisher, where he was respected for his strong work ethic and dedication.

Outside of work, James enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time at the flea market and yard sales, always searching for unique treasures and bargains. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. One of his greatest passions was collecting and trading guns, a hobby that brought him much enjoyment throughout the years.

Above all, James cherished his family. He will be remembered for his love, loyalty, and the many memories he created with those closest to him.

James is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Hamm; his daughter, Lisa Shelby and husband Jessie, and his beloved grandson, Kaden Shelby.  James was preceded in death by his parents, R.C. Hamm and Louise Katherine Blanton Hamm.

James's legacy of hard work, devotion to family, and appreciation for life's simple joys will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 10th, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Associated Family Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Thursday, June 11th, from 10:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 11th, at 1:00 p.m. at Associated Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Ledbetter Cemetery in Adamsville, Tennessee.
