James Robert Willcutt, age 82, of Adamsville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, at Adamsville Health and Rehab. Born on November 16, 1942, to James B. Willcutt and Birdie Mae Ganus, James lived in the area for most of his life, dedicating himself to the land and his family with steadfast love and devotion.
A lifelong farmer, James found deep joy in working the soil and living close to nature. He also had a love for fishing and was never happier than when he was out by the water or surrounded by his loved ones—his children, grandchildren, and his beloved dogs, including his cherished Chihuahuas and his loyal companion Ally, a feist and Chihuahua mix with a big personality.
James was a devoted father to Jamie Willcutt (Michelle), James G. Willcutt, Cynthia Pollock (Jeromy), and Sandy Willcutt. He was a proud grandfather to Brent Bumpus, Crystal Gayle Dishman, Johnny Lee Parson, Austin Pollock, Trevor Pollock, Dustin McCurdy, and Logan Eaves, and leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren, as well as a large extended family of nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
His legacy continues through his surviving siblings: Ruby Cranford, Melinda Cranford, Tommy Willcutt (Connie), Donnie Willcutt, Dorothy Thompson (Junior), Leon Willcutt(Shirley), and Jerry Willcutt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his children Johnnie Ann Willcutt and Robert Glenn Willcutt, siblings Maddie Jane Magnus, Brenda Sue Simpkins, Mary Lou Willcutt, Wanda Kay Johnson, and Katherine, and his granddaughter, Natalie Shuster.
James will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his farm, and the warmth and strength he brought to those around him.
A service celebrating James's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Childers Hill Pentecostal Church. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
