Janice Loretta McDaniels, 68, of Pocahontas, TN, passed away peacefully at her residence on February 21, 2025. She was born on April 3, 1956, to Langford Lawley and Loretta Collins Lawley.
Janice had called the Pocahontas area home for the past 30 years, embracing the beauty of nature and the simple joys of life. She had a deep love for the water, finding peace and happiness in swimming and fishing. Whether casting a line or enjoying a refreshing swim, she felt most at home when surrounded by nature. Above all, Janice cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and warmth.
She is survived by her husband, Michael McDaniels; her children, Angela Green (Phillip), Dianne Barnes (Herbert Rickman), Thomas Barnes, and Terry Barnes; her grandchildren, Falecia Osborn, Colton Purviance, James Rickman, Angela Rickman, and Kylie Barnes; and her great-grandchildren, Damion Barnes, Caden Walden, Zoey Robertson, and Ivy Purviance. She also leaves behind her brother, Tommy Poe, along with a host of nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Minnie Frances Elliott.
In accordance with her family's wishes, services will be private.
Janice will be remembered for her love of family, her adventurous spirit, and the joy she found in life’s simplest pleasures. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
