Mr. Jason Richard Affarian, age 48, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital following a sudden illness.
Jason was born on February 2, 1978, in Brooklyn, New York, to Richard and Pauline Affarian. He spent the last nine years of his life in Savannah, where he built a life centered on family, work, and his personal passions.
Jason was employed as a Youth Supervising Officer at Hollis Academy in Waynesboro. In his role, he dedicated himself to guiding and supporting young people, making a meaningful impact through his work.
He will be remembered for his love of reading and video gaming, as well as his enthusiasm for comics and superheroes. Jason appreciated the worlds created by both DC and Marvel, enjoying stories that celebrated courage, justice, and the strength found in diversity.
Jason is survived by his loving wife, Courtney, and his daughter, Bethany, who were the center of his life and brought him great pride and joy.
Memorial services will be held at a later date and will be announced by the family.
