Jerry Willcutt Obituary

Jerry Michael Willcutt, age 64, formerly of the Childers Hill community, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025. Born on April 10, 1961, to the late James B. Willcutt and Elsie Mae Collins Willcutt, Jerry was a kind-hearted soul known for his gentle nature and love of life’s simple pleasures.

Jerry found great joy in the quiet moments—whether casting a fishing line on a peaceful afternoon, adding to his collection of cherished model cars, or spending time around horses and bicycles that brought him a childlike happiness throughout his life. He was a man who found beauty in the details and comfort in nature.

He is survived by his loving siblings: Dorothy Thompson (Junior) of Michie, TN; Ruby Cranford of Selmer, TN; Melinda Cranford of Ridgely, TN; Tommy Willcutt (Connie); Daniel Ray Willcutt; and Leon Willcutt (Shirley). Jerry also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss his presence.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and siblings: James Robert Willcutt, Marie Lou Willcutt, Mattie Sagely, Wanda Kay Johnson, Brenda Sue Simpkins, and Katherine Newcomb.

A service celebrating Jerry’s life will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Childers Hill Pentecostal Church, with Brother Rex McGee officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM and continue until the time of service.
