John Wayne Monroe, age 81, of Adamsville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026. He was born on March 2, 1945, to the late Willie Monroe and Irene Baker.
John spent much of his working life as a dedicated sawyer at Lock Sawmill. Outside of work, he found joy in simple pleasures—he loved playing bingo, working crossword puzzles, coloring, and spending time fishing. These hobbies brought him peace and happiness throughout his life.
He will be remembered as a father, grandfather, and brother. John is survived by his daughters, Deborah Baird and Brenda Johnson; his sons, Billy Monroe and Richard Monroe; several grandchildren; and a host of brothers and sisters who will carry his memory forward.
