Johnny Gilmore, born February 4, 1955, to John Woodrow Gilmore and Flossie Mae Stems, went to be with the Lord on November 9, 2024, in Huntingdon, Tennessee, at the age of 69.
Johnny was a hardworking man who loved the land and spent much of his life farming. He farmed in Carnegie, Oklahoma, and later in Gibson County, Tennessee, always pouring his heart into the soil and taking pride in the fruits of his labor. When he wasn’t in the fields, Johnny enjoyed working on cars and tractors, fixing things up, and keeping everything running just like it should. He also spent years driving cars for Edge Auto Auction, where his friendly smile and steady work ethic left a lasting impression.
A man of deep faith, Johnny was a member of the Assembly of God Church. He loved his church family and cherished life’s simple pleasures—spending time with family, tinkering in the shop, and lending a hand to anyone who needed it.
Johnny is survived by his siblings, a host of nieces and nephews, and his beloved grandchildren, who brought so much joy to his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Woodrow Gilmore and Flossie Mae Stems, and his dear daughter, Tabby Williams, who he has now joined in Heaven.
He’ll be missed more than words can say, but those who loved him find peace knowing he’s reunited with his loved ones and resting in God’s arms.
