Judith Marie Hopper, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her residence in Morris Chapel, Tennessee, on December 21, 2024, at the age of 75.
Born on April 6, 1949, in Madera, California, Judith was the cherished daughter of Joseph Williams and Lois Sherborne Williams Dilliard. She carried the values of family, kindness, and faith throughout her life, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of those who knew her.
Judith’s life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and devotion. She was a true social butterfly, known for her warmth and ability to connect with people. She enjoyed socializing with her many friends, crocheting, baking, and hosting gatherings with her family. Some of her favorite moments were spent rocking on the front porch with her sister, Carroll, enjoying the beauty of the day. A music lover with a deep faith in Jesus, Judith’s spirit was a source of joy and inspiration to everyone around her.
Judith is survived by her loving children: Karen Davis (Stan) of Savannah, Kristy Kurowski (Andy) of Morris Chapel, Tammy Smith (Lee) of Crump, Kim Hardin (Jimmy Strickland) of Savannah, and Carey Hopper (Sherry) of Newport, TN. She is also survived by her devoted sisters, Caroll Sullivan of Selmer and Mariellen Davis (Terry) of McKenzie.
Her family was the center of her world, and her pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was boundless. She is fondly remembered by her grandchildren: Jessica & David Warren, Joshua Hopper & Sandra, Tera & Brandon McDuffy, James & Fran Hardin, Amber Jo & Timothy, Britney Davis & Colter, Tundra Davis, Mary Davis, Tristan Davis, Nicole & Wesley Jackson, Johnathon Davis, Jurnee & Ben Jones, David Doyle, Keri Beth Kurowski, Abby Kurowski, Bentley Doyle, Kayla Harville, Wesley Hardin, Jacob & Allison Hardin, Kayla & Jeffery Lopez, Amanda Parrott, and 27 great-grandchildren.
Judith is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Williams and Lois Sherborne Dilliard; her stepfather, Oscar Dilliard; her son, Larry Hopper; her brothers, Richard Williams, Glenn Williams, Bill Dilliard, and Laverne Williams; her sisters, Opal Combs and Sybil Stewart; her sisters-in-law, Maxine Williams and Barbara Williams; and her grandson, Larry Glenn Hopper.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Saturday, December 28, from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. A celebration of Judith’s extraordinary life will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Lebanon United Methodist Church, located at 115 Hwy 421 in Sardis, TN.
