Judy Ann Martin, born Judy Lawson, passed away peacefully at her home in Henderson, Tennessee, on December 21, 2025, at the age of 74.
She was born on January 8, 1951, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Dooley Lawson and Jeanette Trenacosta Lawson.
Judy built a life filled with love, laughter, and hard work. She worked for many years as a hairdresser, spending her days talking with people, listening to their stories, and making them feel comfortable and cared for.
She had a soft heart, especially for animals, and loved spending time in her yard with her flowers. Being outside brought her peace, and she took pride in watching things grow.
Judy’s greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her children, Jason Stephens and his wife Angela, Eddie Stephens and his wife Lori, and Laren Hughes and her husband Kevin. She was a proud and loving mother. Her grandchildren — Lexi Frye, Jacob Valladares, Josh Valladares, JP Stephens, Avary Ann Stephens, Ashley Stephens, Whitney Bruner, Kaitlyn Stephens, Landon Hughes, Payton Hughes, and Mila Hughes — brought her endless joy. She was also blessed with great grandchildren: River Frye, Levi Frye, Eira Bruner, Zoey Bruner, Blakely Bruner, Hartley Bruner, Paeton Bruner, and Kenzie Bruner.
Judy is also survived by her stepmother Rosa Lee Lawson, her sister Debbie Lawson, her brother Pat Lawson, her stepbrother Joey Lawson, and her stepsister Annette Divine, along with many other extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dooley and Jeanette Lawson, her husband Robert Martin, her sister Patsy Lawson, and her stepsister Hope Pitry.
Judy will be remembered for her kindness, her steady presence, and the love she had for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
