Ken Vest

Mr. Kenneth Douglas Vest, 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at his home in Henderson. A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.

Born on February 21, 1955, in Ripley, TN, Mr. Vest was the son of the late Frank Douglas and Ruby Elizabeth Smith Vest. He was a devoted husband, father, and brother who found joy and fulfillment in the simple pleasures of life.

An avid birdwatcher, Mr. Vest cherished the tranquility and beauty of nature. He was also a gifted artist, known for his poetry and sculpting. His creative talents were frequently showcased at art shows, where he shared his love for the arts with the community. Mr. Vest was a man of deep faith, and his beliefs guided him throughout his life, providing strength and comfort to those around him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Vest was preceded in death by his step-father, Dennis Hendrix, and his brother, Dennis Vest. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheryl Phares Vest, and his son, Forrest Vest, both of Henderson. He is also survived by his sister, Sheila Reedy of Dyersburg; brother, Curtis Hendrix of Henning; sister, Tammy Bludworth of Henning; and brother, Robert Vest of Greenville, MS.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are being handled by Associated Family Funeral Home of Adamsville.

Mr. Vest's legacy of love, art, and faith will continue to inspire all who knew him. His memory will be cherished by his family and friends, and his spirit will live on in the beauty of his creations and the hearts he touched.
