Larry Murphy, age 75, of Savannah , Tennessee, passed away on June 7, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. He was born on October 1, 1949, to the late Lewis and Hester Price Murphy.
Larry was a hardworking man whose life reflected dedication to both his profession and his loved ones. A truck driver by trade, he was known for his strong work ethic and his generous, down-to-earth nature. For over 50 years, he made his home in the Savannah area, where he built a life centered around family and simple joys.
He enjoyed mowing yards, tinkering on vehicles, and spending quality time with his family. Among his greatest joys were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he adored deeply. His loyal labradoodle, Charlie, was never far from his side and held a special place in his heart.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Crystal Grisham (Steven); his sons, Larry Junior Murphy and Lewis Murphy; his brother, J. N. Murphy (Ramona); and his sister, Bertha Presley. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Ashley Murphy, Autumn Murphy, Riley Grisham, and Blakelyn Grisham; and great-grandchildren, Waylon Long and Aizley Long.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Harry Murphy and W.C. Murphy; his sisters, Eddie Mae and Melvina Babiec; his nephew, Jonathan Presley; and his grandson, Reese Grisham.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Martin, Casey Franks, Jerry Murphy, Cagle Murphy, Robert Adams, and Casen Murphy.
A service celebrating Larry’s life will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Landmark Pentecostal Church in Stantonville. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, June 12, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on Friday from 10:00 AM until the service time. Burial will follow in Crump Cemetery.
