Larry Joe Smith, age 83, of Savannah, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at Adamsville Health and Rehab. A lifelong resident of Savannah, Larry was known for his warm humor, love of laughter, and deep affection for family and friends.
Born on February 18, 1942, Larry embraced the simple joys of life. He found happiness in playing dominoes, sharing jokes, and bringing smiles to those around him. He never passed up a good laugh—or a plate of fried chicken.
Larry's life was rich with love and connection. He is survived by his devoted cousin, Cathy Gray; his special friend, Peaches, and her children, who held a dear place in his heart; his sister-in-law, Virginia Smith; and a host of beloved family members, including five nieces and one nephew, all of whom he deeply cherished.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Billy Smith (Barbara) and Tommy Jack Smith; and his infant son, Larry Joe Smith.
A graveside service celebrating Larry's life will be held at Neill Cemetery on Friday, June 20th, at 3:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather at the cemetery to honor and remember a man who brought light and laughter to those who knew him.
