Margaret J. Simandl, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, at the age of 79.
Born on August 29, 1946, Margaret was the cherished daughter of Marvin and Annie Lois Mathis. She grew up in a loving home surrounded by her siblings and carried that same deep sense of family and devotion throughout her life.
Margaret shared a beautiful 62-year marriage with her devoted husband, Wally Simandl. Together, they built a strong and enduring partnership that was the heart of their family.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: son John Simandl, and daughter Deanna Morris and her husband Jim Morris. Margaret’s legacy lives on in her grandchildren—Jonathan Simandl, Ty Simandl and his wife Reaghn, James Morris and his wife Devon, and Dr. Leanna Roach and her husband Jake—and in her great-grandchildren: Levi Simandl, James David Morris, and Callahan Simandl, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Margaret is also survived by her siblings James, John, Becky, Kay, and Brenda, and was a beloved aunt to a host of nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her warmth and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Annie Lois Mathis, and siblings Melba, Martha, Mary Francis, Robbie June, and Marvina.
Margaret had a passion for antiques, a love of shopping, and above all, treasured time spent with her family. Her life was marked by generosity, laughter, and a deep, abiding love for those around her.
A private memorial service will be held by the family to honor her life and memory
