Marilyn "Pat" (King) Battles, born on April 3, 1947, in Selmer, Tennessee, to Alva King and Aline Leatherwood King, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024, at AHC of Selmer. She was 77 years old.
Pat lived a life full of love, resilience, and devotion to her family. Known for her kind and giving nature, she found her greatest joy in her relationships with family and friends. Her warmth and generosity touched everyone who knew her, leaving behind cherished memories that will be held close to the hearts of her loved ones.
She is survived by her brothers Johnny King (Margie) of Guntown, MS, and Everett King (Brenda) of Selmer, TN, as well as a host of nieces and nephews who adored her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harvey Battles; her parents, Alva and Aline King; her grandparents; her sister, Mary Huggins; and her brothers, Eugene, Montie Earl, Steve, Charles, Billy Joe, and Jerry Lee King.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Adamsville Chapel of Memories at Associated Family Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Center Hill Cemetery in Counce, Tennessee, where Pat will be laid to rest beside her loved ones.
Pat’s legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her family takes comfort in the knowledge that she is now at peace and reunited with those she loved in life. May her memory be a blessing to all who were privileged to know her.
