Martha Stack
April 8, 1936 – October 11, 2025
Saltillo, TN – Martha Stack, age 89, passed away peacefully at her residence on October 11, 2025. Born on April 8, 1936, to Walter and Maggie Davis, Martha lived a full and vibrant life, filled with love, creativity, and a deep devotion to her family and friends.
Martha dedicated many years of her life working as a nurse’s aide at Western State Hospital in Bolivar, where her compassion and gentle nature left a lasting impression on those in her care. After moving to Saltillo 33 years ago, she quickly became a beloved member of the community—known for her warm hospitality, generous spirit, and ever-present smile.
Martha had a zest for life that was contagious. She loved to dance and never missed a chance to enjoy music and movement. She found joy in the kitchen, whether cooking meals for her family or savoring the simple pleasure of a good bite to eat. An artist at heart, she also loved to paint, expressing herself through colors and creativity. Above all, she cherished visiting with others and welcoming visitors into her home, where laughter and stories flowed freely.
She is survived by her loving children, Hollis Wayne Jr. Stack (Melinda) of Bolivar and Vicki Archibald of Bethel Springs, TN; her sister Shirley Lowrance; and her cherished grandchildren: Corey Stack, Jason Stack, Lisa Isley, Anthony Overton, Clay Stack, and Clint Stack.
Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hollis Wayne Stack Sr.; her parents, Walter and Maggie Davis; her sister Beverly Diane King; her brother Bobby H. Davis; and her son James Anthony Stack.
