Martha Sue Smith

Martha Sue Smith, age 89, of Savannah, TN, passed away on May 28, 2024 at AHC Nursing Facility in Savannah, TN. Martha was born to Earnest K. and Claire Youngblood Stricklin on November 19,1934 in Hardin County, TN. She was the widow of Archie Lee (Ted) Smith, who passed on Saturday, July 13, 2013. They were married on June 18, 1952 and married for 61 years.

A member of the Hopewell Baptist Church, she loved quilting, doing embroidery, word search puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, and flower gardening.

She worked in a nursery for over 30 years.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Hopewell Baptist Church, Hwy 128 in the Walkertown community. Interment will follow in the Graham Methodist Church Cemetery, Hwy 69, Savannah, TN. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 12 pm – 2 pm at the church. Associated Family Funeral Home, LLC, Adamsville, TN is in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her children Deborah Smith Brown Wright (Terry) of Savannah, Eddie Smith (Kimberly) of Stantonville, Steve Smith (Janet), and Jimmy Smith (Jonie) both of Savannah, TN. She also leaves her grandchildren, Jeromy Smith, Tori Thomas, Alan Brown, Matt Brown, Charley Brown, Conway Smith, Derek Smith, and Dustin Smith, 9 Great grandchildren, and 2 great great children. A sister, Linda Malone (late WJ), and a brother, Ancil Strickland (Joy).

Mrs., Smith also leaves nieces and nephews, other family members and many friends.

She is preceded by a sister, Lucille Downing (late Quentin), and 2 brothers, David Stricklin (late Nora) and Ernest Stricklin, Jr. (late Mary).
