Michael Kevin Howell, 60, of Henderson, Tennessee, passed away on February 2, 2026. He was born on May 5, 1965, to Bobby Earl Howell and Nancy Patterson Howell, who survive him.
Michael worked as a production manager and served as a first responder at the plant, always ready to help when something went wrong. He was steady, reliable, and well-respected by his coworkers.
He had a lifelong love of cars, especially muscle cars. He collected model 1969 Chevrolet Camaros—over 200 in total—and loved working on real cars, too. One of his favorite pastimes was trading at the Crump Flea Market with his dad. He also enjoyed boats, ships, art, and had a real appreciation for the finer things. Travel was another passion, and he was proud to have visited places like the Pyramids and Belize.
Michael married the love of his life, Janet Leigh Howell, on May 5, 1990. Though he was an only child, he had close ties to his family and loved his nieces dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Leigh Howell; his parents, Bobby Earl and Nancy Howell; his uncle Gary Patterson (Cindy); his brother-in-law Bryan Maness; and his nieces Malia Maness and Mattie Maness.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jess and Ruth Mayfield Patterson, and R.B. and Bertie Butler Howell.
A service celebrating Michael’s life will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Sanford Hill Baptist Church, located at 644 Sanford St, Henderson, TN 38340. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:30 a.m. and will continue until the time of service. (Saturday only.)
