Nellie Ruth Forsyth Carter age 85 of Adamsville passed at Adamsville Healthcare on May 20, 2025.
Nellie was born November 2, 1939, the daughter of the late Mary Smith Forsyth and Wilson Forsyth. She was married to Larry Carter, who survives.
Nellie worked most of her life as a florist, creating beautiful arrangements for both joyful and sad occasions. She enjoyed all things involved with art. Drawing, painting and needlework were some of her hobbies.
Nellie was a member of the Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Savannah.
Along with her husband, Larry, she is survived by her sons Allen Cook (June) of Savannah, Keith Cook (Rachel) of Adamsville, her daughters, Vicki Todd (Ronnie) of Adamsville, and Shannon Ricks (Richard) of Decatur Alabama, and a Sister Reda Plaxico of Corinth. She also leaves numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter Jennifer White, 3 brothers, Ralph, Billy, and Donald Forsyth, and a Sister Sue Morrow.
Services will be 4pm on Friday May 23rd at Associated Family Funeral Home Chapel in Adamsville 230 N Maple St. Visitation will be from 2pm until service time
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church building fund in her memory. Donations may be mailed to Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 6095 Hwy 226, Savannah, Tn 38372.
