Patricia Gibbs Obituary

Patricia George Gibbs (Mammy), 85, of Adamsville, Tennessee, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026.

Mammy was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished Mammy whose greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great-grands. She was known for her feisty spirit, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. Mammy never hesitated to speak her mind, and those who knew her loved her for her honesty, strength, and ability to make them laugh.

As a mother, she provided unwavering love, guidance, and support. As a Mammy, she created countless treasured memories, sharing laughter, stories, and unconditional love with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in the lives of those she loved.

Mammy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Glen Gibbs Sr.; her son, Bobby Glen Gibbs Jr.; her parents, Pauline George and John George; her sister known as “mom”, Ruth George Woods; her sisters Christine, Mary, Ann, and a brother, Charles. Along with an abundance of Gibbs brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Chris) Milford of Adamsville, Tennessee; her granddaughters, Kellie Battles of Savannah, Tennessee, and Kristina Berry (Scott) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; her great-grandsons, Casen Battles and Collin Battles; and a sister/niece, Paulette Stepp (Mark) of Walland, Tennessee. As well as her Gibbs sister-in-laws; Kay, Lois, Martha Ray, Becky, Diana, and Josie, along with other family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Mammy's vibrant personality could light up a room. Whether she was teasing a loved one, sharing a funny story, or standing her ground with her trademark determination, she left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her laughter, resilience, and loving heart will be remembered always.

Though she will be deeply missed, Mammy leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, humor, style, and devotion to family. The memories she created and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held as a graveside service at Pine Hill Memorial on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Mammy’s life and the many memories she leaves behind.
