Peggy Lynnette (Carter) Rawlins Hensley, age 72 of Saltillo, TN passed away the evening of February 10th 2024 in Corinth MS. after a brief illness. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her departure.
Born on September 4th 1951, to Johnnie “Jack” and Sara (Preston) Carter in Wichita Falls TX. Peggy loved being outside working in her garden and enjoyed sitting on her porch watching the birds. Most of all though, she loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 40 years William “Red” Hensley of Saltillo TN; Her daughters Shari (Jerry) Edwards of Hardyville KY, Dawn (David) Atherton of Milledgeville TN, Jamie Rawlins of Adamsville TN, Laura Lea Hensley of San Antonio TX, Penny Hensley of Henderson TN, Melove (Chris) Casey of Huron TN, and Melissa (Hensley) Coss of Jackson TN; Her grandchildren Sara “Michelle” (Rimmer) Harrington, Jessica (Rimmer) Kelly, Elaina Rimmer, Audrey (Atherton) Cherrie, Tyler Atherton, Wilhelmina Hensley-Lax, Noel (Rodriguez) Nickey, Aubrey Rodriguez, Erin Cogdell, Crysten Casey, Caitie (Casey) Wollett, Keith Casey, Micha Casey, Patrick Coss, Lillian Simmons, Joshua Simmons, Savannah Simmons and 14 great grandchildren.
Peggy was preceded in death by her late husband James “Jim” Rawlins (d. 1982), her parents Jack and Sara Carter, her brothers Ronnie Carter, Gary Harris, Johnnie Carter Jr., and Timmy Carter.
In honor of her wishes, Peggy will be cremated and there will be no formal services.
