Richard Lee Beebe, Jr., age 63, passed away on October 27, 2024, at his home in Selmer, Tennessee. Born on January 27, 1961, in Toledo, Ohio, he was the beloved son of the late Richard Lee Beebe, Sr., and Viola Millet. A recent transplant to Selmer from Orange City, Florida, Richard quickly grew to love his new home in Tennessee.
Known for his passion for “junking” and his unwavering love for Sunkist soda, Richard’s humor, kindness, and enthusiasm for life’s little pleasures made him a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Judith Beebe; his children, Cynthia Beebe Thompson (Donovan) of Fruitland Park, Florida; Julie Hatcher (Paul) of Leesburg, Florida; Richelle Fernandez (Elias) of Lady Lake, Florida; and his son, Richard Cole. He is also remembered by his stepdaughter, Chantal Scarlett Drechsel.
Richard’s memory lives on in his cherished grandchildren: Desiree Cole, Devin Cole, Dominick Cole, Dononna Thompson, Kymber Turner, Justyce Lavrey, Nicholas Hatcher, Tyler Hatcher, Phoenix Money, Brock Money, Caleb Childers, Tyler Fernandez, Taylor Fletcher, Tara Fletcher, and Tyson Fletcher. He is further survived by his great-grandchildren: Dawson Cole, Amelia Cole, Hayvan Humphrey, Haylie Humphrey, Liam Money, Brielle Money, Gracelyn Fernandez, Wyatt Willey, Mya Willey, TJ Fletcher, and Ember Pelfrey. Richard also leaves behind his siblings, William Beebe, Herbert Beebe, Dolly Beebe, and Holly Beebe, along with many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Lee Beebe, Sr., and his daughter, Amber Fletcher.
A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Clear Creek Baptist Church, 1729 Lawton Rd., Selmer, Tennessee 38375. A light dinner will follow at the church.
Richard’s warmth, humor, and love will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
