Rita Ladig, born on May 28, 1954, to Gordon Greenway and Viola Gilbert, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024, after a brief illness. Known for her boundless spirit and infectious laughter, Rita made her home at a senior living apartment community in Jackson, where she quickly became the life of the party and brought joy to everyone around her. Her lively presence, quick wit, and warm heart will be deeply missed.
A lover of flowers, Rita filled her days with the beauty of nature, tending to blooms that seemed to mirror her own bright personality. She found immense happiness outdoors, often sharing her floral creations with friends and family. Her daughter Ashley lovingly recalls that Rita was always her adventurous “roller coaster compadre,” ready to tackle anything life had in store.
Rita is survived by her beloved daughter, Ashley Shutt (Kenny) of Saltillo, TN, and her cherished grandson, Tucker Shutt, who was her pride and joy. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the team at Legacy Hospice for their compassionate care during Rita’s final days.
Rita’s laughter, kindness, and the joy she brought to her community will continue to blossom in the hearts of all who knew her.
