Rodney Keith Brown, Sr., age 70, of Selmer, TN, passed away peacefully at his residence on March 27, 2025. Born on June 9, 1954, to the late Albert Henry Brown, Sr. and Ollie Cox Brown, Rodney was a man of many talents, a devoted family man, and a cherished friend to many.
A hardworking and self-taught craftsman, Rodney spent his career as a mechanic for the McNairy County Highway Department, where he took great pride in keeping things running smoothly. But his abilities extended far beyond his profession. A natural problem-solver, he had an innate ability to read a book and teach himself how to master nearly any trade. Whether it was carpentry, seam work, shoe repair, or gardening, Rodney approached every skill with dedication and precision. His passion for CB radios connected him with people far and wide, and as a proud Freemason, he embraced the values of brotherhood, service, and lifelong learning.
Above all, Rodney was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He married the love of his life, Brenda Russom Brown, on May 3, 1972, and together they built a life filled with love and family. He was a proud father to Rodney Keith Brown, Jr. and Gwendolyn Brown-Phillips (Trey Phillips) and found immense joy in his grandson, Tripp Phillips. Rodney was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved daughter, Rhonda Kay Brown.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025 at 3PM in the Woodville Cemetery Located at 175 Pump House Lane, Woodville, TN 38315.
