Saundra Dawson, born on January 26, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2024, at her residence in Selmer, Tennessee. She was 80 years old.
Saundra was the beloved daughter of the late John Russell and Helen McDaniel. A vibrant and lively woman, she had recently moved to Tennessee from Chicago, Illinois, where she had spent much of her life. In the year she spent in Tennessee, she quickly made it her home, filling it with the same warmth and joy that she brought to every place she lived.
Saundra had a passion for life that was evident in everything she did. She loved singing, often filling her home with music, and was known for her exceptional cooking. She had a flair for make-up and fashion, always enjoying the opportunity to dress up and express herself. Game shows were a favorite pastime, and she had a special affection for Steve Harvey, whose humor and kindness brought her much happiness.
She is survived by her loving children: her daughter Khalifa Dawson, and her sons Bill Jackson, Bobby Jackson, David Dawson, and Bilal Dawson. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Kenneth Farmer, Malcolm Farmer, Malinee Farmer, Kimani Farmer, Kennedy Farmer, Keyarei Dawson, Keyaira Dawson, and Keyshay Dawson. Saundra was also blessed with great-grandchildren Sienna Dawson, Jaylen and Jayden Williams, and Si'Ar Brown Farmer who brought her immense joy.
Saundra was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Malinee Farmer, whose memory she carried in her heart until her last days.
Saundra will be remembered for her love of life, her vibrant spirit, and the deep affection she had for her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and joy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
