Shane Nelson Yarbrough, age 46, of Calvert City, Kentucky, passed away on October 3, 2025, at Volunteer Hospital in Martin. Born on July 15, 1979, Shane was the beloved son of Edward Yarbrough and Linda Stone Weldon, who survive him.
Throughout his life, Shane worked as a proud merchant marine, dedicating his career to life on the water. His adventurous spirit and strong work ethic were matched only by his deep love for music. Shane was an accomplished guitar player who found joy in sharing songs and laughter with others. He also loved collecting arrowheads, a reflection of his appreciation for history and nature. Above all, Shane cherished time spent with his family, always striving to bring smiles and laughter to those around him. His humor, warmth, and generous heart will be remembered by all who knew him.
Shane is survived by his children, Jordan Yarbrough, Jayden Yarbrough, Alyssa Yarbrough, and Raelynn Yarbrough; his parents, Edward Yarbrough and Linda Weldon (Robert); his brothers, Shon Yarbrough (Sandra), Ryan Weldon, Rob Higgins, and Cameron Ackerson; and his sisters, Carrie Mountjoy (George) and Keara Ackerson. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Sharon Yarbrough; his sister, Kelly Ackerson; his grandmother, Myrtle Waldon; and his grandfather, Ross Yarbrough.
A service celebrating Shane’s life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Associated Family Funeral Home of Adamsville, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 12:00 PM and continuing until the time of service.
