Sharon Lee Flanigan Burke, born August 5, 1964, in Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home in Crump, Tennessee, on November 25, 2024, after a brief illness.
Sharon was the beloved daughter of the late Elmer H. Flanigan and Norma Yopp Flanigan. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Steven Burke, her brother Victor Flanigan, and her niece Melissa Flanigan.
She leaves behind her siblings, William Flanigan, Kathleen Flanigan Payment, and Nina Flanigan Williams, along with her nephews, Eric Williams and Martin Flanigan and niece Debra Flanigan, who will carry forward her love and legacy.
Sharon spent her working life as a youth counselor, where her kind heart and down-to-earth wisdom made her a guiding light for young people finding their way. She always had a warm word of encouragement and a steady hand to help others through life’s challenges.
Sharon had a creative spirit that was as big as the Tennessee sky. She loved crafting jewelry, weaving intricate dreamcatchers, painting scenes inspired by the world around her, and losing herself in a good book on a quiet afternoon. Her creations were a reflection of the beauty she saw in the world, and she shared that beauty generously with others.
She loved her family, her community, and the simple joys of life. Whether she was working with kids, making art, or swapping stories over a cup of coffee, Sharon had a way of making everyone feel welcome and loved.
She will be dearly missed, but her love, kindness, and creativity will always remain in the hearts of those who knew her
