Starla Dawn Goodman

Starla Dawn Goodman, 50, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, in Jackson, Tn. Born on August 11, 1975, in Florence, Alabama, Starla was the beloved daughter of the late Ruben Highland and Pamela Highland.

Starla was a gifted cosmetologist who dedicated many years of service to Judy’s Cut and Style, where she built lasting friendships with coworkers and clients alike. Her talent, warm spirit, and caring heart made her not only exceptional in her profession but also deeply loved by all who knew her.

Outside of her work, Starla found joy in many things that reflected her creativity and love for family and faith. She was a devoted fan of Alabama football and enjoyed cheering on her team every season. She had a remarkable talent for floral arranging and lovingly created beautiful arrangements for her church, family monuments, holidays, and especially for her daughter Kristen’s wedding. Starla also took great pride in decorating the church and making every celebration feel special and welcoming.

In addition to her parents, Starla was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jonathan Goodman.

She leaves behind cherished memories with her loving daughter, Kristen Sams and her husband Devon Sams; her treasured grandchildren, Hunter, Konnor, and Amelia; and her dear mother-in-law, Judy Goodman, and her borther JayR Highland. She also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, coworkers, and members of her church family who will forever remember her kindness, creativity, and loving spirit.

Starla will be remembered for her artistic talent, generous heart, unwavering faith, and the beauty she brought into the lives of those around her. Her legacy of love and service will continue to live on through the family and friends she cherished so deeply.
