Mr. Teddy “Ted” Louis Sibley, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Hardin Medical Center from injuries received in an automobile accident. His beloved wife, Marjorie “Margie” Blount Sibley, departed this life at their home in Crump, Tennessee, on November 22, 2025, at the age of 87, following a long illness.
Ted was born on December 3, 1935, in Crump, Tennessee, to Clell N. and Doris Strawn Sibley. He was a graduate of Central High School in Savannah and proudly served in the United States Army, stationed in Alaska when it became the 49th state of the United States. Ted worked for many years as building maintenance supervisor of the 100 North Main Building. He was later employed by Sibley Services and served as equipment maintenance engineer for Southern College of Optometry until his retirement.
Margie was born on October 14, 1938, in Savannah, Tennessee, to Louis Herbert and Fleda Crotts Blount. She made her home over the years in Savannah, Tennessee; Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Memphis, Tennessee, before settling in Crump in 2000.
Ted and Margie were united in marriage on May 23, 1959, and shared more than 66 years together. They are survived by their daughter, Sheri Sibley Archer and her husband, David, of Crawfordsville, Arkansas; Ted’s brothers, Jack Sibley and his wife, Stephanie, of Carlsbad, California, and Tom Sibley and his wife, Marlene, of Cupertino, California; Ted’s sister-in-law, Olivia Sibley; and a host of extended family and friends who will miss them dearly.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Joann Shelton and Bobbie Tyler; and his brothers, Wallace and Jerry Sibley. Margie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Paul Blount.
A joint memorial service for Ted and Margie Sibley will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Crump Cemetery, under the direction of Associated Family Funeral Home of Adamsville.
