Tonya Rachelle (Joyner) Whitney, age 55, passed away on June 17, 2026, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Born on December 15, 1970, to the late Melvin Douglas Joyner and Charlotte Porter Joyner, Tonya was a lifelong resident of the area. She was known for her caring spirit, her devotion to her family, and the love she shared with those closest to her.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Lance Whitney and Zachary Whitney; her longtime companion, Jason McCoy; her brother, Lane Joyner; her sister, Teresa Dickerson; and her beloved granddaughters, Evie Whitney and Lila Whitney.

In addition to her parents, Tonya was preceded in death by her brother, Doug Joyner.

Tonya's family and friends will remember her for the love she gave, the memories she created, and the lasting impact she made on the lives of those who knew her.

Memorial service will be held on Friday July 3rd at 3 P.M. at Associated Family Funeral Home.
