Vickie Breaux Obituary

Vickie Marie Breaux (née Gibbs), age 68, passed away on July 2, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Hospital after an illness. She was born on September 19, 1956, to Joe Gibbs and Lois Norwood Gibbs.

Vickie’s life took her many places Houston, Texas; Anchorage, Alaska; Southaven, Mississippi but her heart always brought her back home to Adamsville, Tennessee, where she spent the last few years surrounded by family and friends. No matter where she lived, Vickie brought warmth and generosity with her, creating meaningful connections wherever she went.

She had a love for beautiful flowers in bloom, the sound of waves at the beach and found great joy in the simple act of caring for others. She was especially known for her peach cobbler, which she could prepare at a moment’s notice and often shared with members of the community.

She is survived by her mother, Lois Gibbs; her sisters, Phyllis James and Pam McCasland; and her brothers, Eddie Gibbs (Diane), Jerry Gibbs (Sybil), and Danny Gibbs (Ronnell), all of Adamsville. She also leaves behind her special nieces: Debbie Venable of Henderson, Belinda Goad of Orange Beach, Alabama, and Cindy Tuberville of Mobile, Alabama. Vickie is also survived by her devoted cousins and caretakers, Kathy Milford and Terry Sue Blancq, along with many other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and cherished friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Gibbs, and her beloved aunt, Martha Davey.

A service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Crump, with Brother Lynn Prather officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and continue until the time of service. Burial will follow at Crump Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Gibbs, Josh Gibbs, Derick Gibbs, Wayne Venable, Clark Goad, and Joey Tuberville. Eddie Gibbs will serve as honorary pallbearer.
