William Andrew Clifton

William Andrew Clifton, known to most as Big Andy, passed away on March 29, 2026, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital at the age of 70.

Born on April 18, 1955, Andy was a true country soul—rough and rowdy, full of grit, and never one to pretend to be anything other than himself. He lived life the way he wanted, with a strong will and a free spirit that those who knew him came to understand and appreciate.

Andy enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. You could often find him settled in watching old westerns, especially Gunsmoke, a show he never seemed to tire of. He had a love for laid-back days, good company, and the kind of moments that didn’t need much fuss to be meaningful.

He attended Liberty Church of Christ in Scotts Hill, Tennessee, where he would occasionally visit.

Andy is survived by his son, Thomas Andrew Ervin; his daughter, Laura Naomi Clifton; and his grandchildren, Perry Ervin, Cleveland Ervin, Tucker Ervin, Kylie Dailey, Alexis Dailey and Ashton Dailey. He also leaves behind family and friends who will remember his unmistakable personality and the stories that came with it.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 2, 2026, at 3:00 PM, with visitation beginning at 2:30 PM until service time.
