William Everett King, age 82, of Selmer, Tennessee, passed away on March 29, 2025. He was born on January 17, 1943, to the late Alva King and Aline Leatherwood King.
Everett was a man of quiet strength, kindness, and generosity. If you knew him, you knew he would do anything for anybody—but you truly had to know him to understand his essence. He had a deep love for the outdoors, spending much of his time coon hunting, fishing, and caring for his beloved coon dogs. He was also a man of faith, attending Falcon Baptist Church in Selmer. Above all, he cared deeply for his family, cherishing every moment with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Everett is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Wilson King of Selmer; his sons, Dennis “Denny” King(Linda) of Smyrna, TN, and William “Nathan” King of Loganville, GA; his daughters, Sandra “Sandi” Richard (Steve) of Selmer and Judy Edwards (Jeff) of Selmer; and his brother, Johnny King (Margie) of Guntown, MS.
He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Autumn Rogers (Dan), Ginny King, and Chas Richard, and his great-grandchildren, Dylan Richard, Landon Richard, Chandler Richard, Pryne Richard, Cash Richard, John Rogers, Robert Rogers and Greyson Moore.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Eugene King, Montie Earl King, Steve King, Charles King, Billy Joe King, Jerry Lee King, Marilyn Battles, and Mary Huggins.
A service celebrating Everett’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Associated Family Funeral Home, with Jay Houston officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Following the service, Everett will be laid to rest at Lake Hill Memory Gardens.
